Recently, I have been updating my online presence as a researcher. It’s amazing to see the sheer amount of online tools available to academics: It seems like we are a market now! I thought I’d share the tools I currently use professionally, and of course you are welcome to connect with me on any of these venues.

Mendeley is just a fantastic reference manager, and the online social network features also allow me to share my own papers. Follow the link to my personal page.

Researchgate is an online forum for academics. You can upload papers, add biographical information, and participate in online discussions. You can post questions, or answer those of others. Useful to discuss papers. The site also awards you a score for your publications and activity on their network. Once you sign up, this website does have the tendency to spam you with a lot of e-mails

Academia.edu is a little like researchgate, but it seems not as lively populated.

LinkedIn really needs no introduction, but it is a good way to keep connected to people professionally.

Twitter I find Twitter useful to follow the thoughts of some academics, and share my own tweets of information once in a while.

Curving Normality is this blog, but you already found that one. Did you know you can sign up for e-mail alerts for new posts? You can sign up by submitting your e-mail address in the column to the right.

This page presents some of the posts found on Curving Normality that I personally think are amongst the best quality posts, or represent important aspects of this site. I copied this page to my blog to increase the exposure.

I distinguish posts in three main categories: General Science, Blogs about Peer Review Research, and some on R-Project. This selection is for you to get started on reading Curving Normality, so feel invited to continue reading posts that did not make it to these short lists!
